Q. Does the library have calculators I can check-out?

Yes! The Mary and Jeff Bell Library provides calculators available for check out at the circulation desk located on the first floor of the Library. Please see the list of calculator types and check-out periods below.

Hold Requests

Hold requests are not available for calculators. All calculators will be checked-out on a first come, first serve basis.

Calculator reservations for future times are not available.  

Procedures:

• In order to check out any calculator the student must have a valid Sanddollar ID card.
• All calculators may only be checked out and used by current TAMUCC students.
• Calculators must be returned on time and in the condition in which they were checked out in.
  • If a calculator is returned after a three hour check out period, the student will be fined $1.00 per hour starting immediately after the checkout period has lapsed.
  • If a calculator is returned after a 24-hour check out period, the student will be fined $.50 per day starting immediately after the checkout period has lapsed.
  • If a calculator is lost or damaged, the student who checked out the calculator will be required to pay the full price of the calculator. 
• All calculators are available on a first come/first serve basis. The Mary and Jeff Bell Library does not allow calculator reservations.
• Information should not be stored on library calculators with memory capability, as they will be regularly cleared of all saved data.
• If a patron notices damage to the calculator, they are obligated to let the circulation staff know immediately. Failure to do so may result in the patron being held liable for any and all damages.

Students using library calculators in class are responsible for knowing and following the guidelines of their instructors. In addition, users of library calculators, as with all library resources, must comply with the rules of use and conduct listed in the Mary and Jeff Bell library item use policies.

NOTICE: Failure to follow these policies, or other applicable library policies, may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of library checkout privileges.
